Appalachian trail 2011 gear list
Gear, Gear, Gear. What it comes down to is this. Insanity and Genius at the same time. Remember boys and girls - this is NOT a vacation. THIS is an ADVENTURE. So plan accordingly. Starting in cold late winter weather, hiking through the summer, and into the late fall often requires some adjustment of certain gear items. Sometimes things break, or you break them over your knee. Sometimes you lose things, or you simply throw them off of a cliff. Remember ladies and gentlemen - this is NOT a vacation. THIS is an ADVENTURE. My final words are these: While good gear and a dream will get you to the start of your adventure, it's determination and flexibility that will get you to the end. BRINGING THINGS DOES NOT ENSURE SUCCESS. Only an unbreakable will, a little Aleve, and a lot of divine protection will get you from one end to the other. Now get outside and make bad but exciting decisions, and remember not to sue me if you get hurt.
