Pair of shoes #1: El Campo to Kennedy Meadows, California
Campo, California. Elevation 2,600 feet above sea level. Population 2,600. Distance to Canada 2,600 miles.
While not exactly next in line for a Starbucks, Campo does see people from all over the world come to visit. Usually the visits are brief, but they are almost always monumental. The biggest reason to visit, is it also happens to be right near the monument marking the Pacific Crest Trail southern terminus.
To begin any adventure, you have to actually get to the beginning.
Not always fun. Not always easy. Not always safe. Not always certain.
However, you can't deny that walking from Mexico to Canada is ALWAYS going to be an adventure.
