TENNESSEE: NUMBER 3 MUST BE THE MAGIC NUMBER
Tennessee. Home of great hiking, humid weather, and some really crazy stories! I learned about bow hunting wild boar with Rottweilers in kevlar vests (to hold the animal down), about disturbing trends in small town Appalachian regarding dueling banjos, met some kind folk, met some weird folk, and I did a lot of walking.
Mostly however, I viewed the history of the Civil war in a way that I had never done before. I was able to talk to people who were passionate and proud of their southern heritage.
My experiences were at times, pretty freaking weird. But, they gave me a broader
understanding of different perspectives, and gave me the opportunity to learn about things that I knew nothing about. It also showed me what a blessing it is to have enjoyed as much education as I have, and most importantly, it reminded me to never judge a book by its cover. Great people come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and backgrounds, and if you don't take a chance on getting to know someone, then you may end up missing out on a great experience.
