PCT'd off: Walking the Pacific Crest Trail From Mexico to canada
How do I describe the feelings of freedom, adventure, and awe,
that sum up a thru-hike of the PCT? I don't really know, so I'll just give it my best shot.
Buckle your seatbelt and get comfy in your chair, because this will be intense.
And come on, even if it's not intense, it will be at the very least entertaining.
Cheer with my successes, and laugh with some Schadenfreude, that oh-so-good guilty enjoyment of taking pleasure in others misfortunes.
Caution: 2,650 miles of bumps ahead, so take some Aleve and grab a helmet.

I'm proud to be a Trail Ambassador and mYAMAdventure Mentor for this excellent company. I enjoyed using the Cirriform SW Cuben Tent on the PCT, and continue to enjoy using it around New England.
1st Pair of Shoes: El Campo, California near the Mexican Border to Kennedy Meadows Store at the start of the High Sierra Mountains, California. This slideshow will traverse roughly 700 miles of trail.
2nd Pair of Shoes: Kennedy Meadows through the High Sierra's, a side trip to summit Mt. Whitney, a resupply trip over Kearsage Pass into the tiny town of Lone Pine, and finally winding through Yosemite Valley and up to Lake Tahoe.
3rd Pair of Shoes: From unbelievably deep Lake Tahoe, I'll go past many volcanic mountains including Lassen and Shasta. Winding my way ever northward into Oregon and the majestic Mt. Hood. I'll pass the massive Crater Lake, and the many waterfalls of Eagle Creek, before winding up in the small town of Cascade Locks, my last stop in Oregon.
4th Pair of Shoes: Bidding the flat trails of Oregon farewell, a swift crossing of the Bridge of the Gods takes me into Washington State. Pummeled by the after-effects of a Typhoon, steep trails, the rain, snow, and cold weather will conspire to make Washington my hardest challenge of the trail.
5th Pair = Snowshoes: I'm halfway through Washington State, and a record setting storm forces me to leave the trail to swap my summer gear for winter hiking gear. Joined by Hard Target and Cougar Bait we plunge back into the snow filled mountains and finish this final challenge that the trail has thrown at us.
